If you're year 11, 12 or 13 and are wondering what you want to do after highschool, come to MDS and Find your Fit in the world of Digital Design.

If you're a high school student and thinking about working in a creative field nows your chance to experience what it's like to learn, study and practice in the digital design sphere. Our Find your Fit programme lets you explore two creative career paths of your choosing, with workshops available in 3D Animation and VFX, Game Art, Game Programming, and Interactive Design. 

Select two study areas you’re most interested in learning more about and you’ll be enrolled in two of our immersive, hands-on workshops. You’ll be guided by our award-winning faculty, creating awesome projects and learning new skills in a fun, supportive environment. Each workshop runs for three hours with a lunch break in between – no prior knowledge is necessary for any of the sessions. 

 Available to students in Years 11, 12 and 13.

 

Schedule

Registration: 9:00am - 9:30am 

Workshop 1: 9:30am - 12:30pm

Lunch: 12:30pm - 1:00pm (BYO lunch, refreshments provided)

Workshop 2: 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Workshop Options:

 

BMD Workshop - Interactive

This workshop has been designed to allow students create hands on, fun and immersive interactive experiences. No previous knowledge necessary and students don’t need to bring anything with them at this stage. The session will be guided and supported by the Bachelor of Media Design Faculty. 

 

BoAD Workshop Options

1. Digital Sculpting 

This workshop is designed to give participants experience in 3D modelling with Z Brush. Students will digitally sculpt CGI creature with this used friendly modelling tool. The session will be guided and supported by the Bachelor of Art and Design Faculty. No previous knowledge necessary. 

2. Dynamics 

This workshop will give participants a taste of dynamic simulations: explosions, fluid simulations, fire and smoke. The session will be guided and supported by the Bachelor of Art and Design Faculty. No previous knowledge necessary. 

 

BCT Workshop - Game Asset Creation 

Learn to create low poly 3D props that could be used inside a game engine. 

  

BSE Workshop - Game Programming 

Create a simple game using a 3d engine that explores fundamental aspects of programming and design. 

 

The programme is available across July 12th and 13th. To register, choose the day you’d like to attend and complete the registration form with your choice of two workshops. If you'd like to attend all four workshops please sign up for both days and select different workshops for the two days.
