Are you in Years 11–13 and curious about how design and creative tech can shape a city? Step into Media Design School’s neighbourhood in Wynyard Quarter for a one-day, hands-on workshop where you’ll team up with our design students, industry mentors, mana whenua, and the Auckland Urban Development Office.
Together, you’ll tackle a real challenge based on Te Ara Tukutuku – the transformation of Wynyard Point into a vibrant new waterfront destination for the people of Tāmaki Makaurau. Along the way, you’ll dive into design thinking, creative problem-solving, and digital tools to bring your ideas to life.
What You'll Be Doing
- Learn how to think like a designer, solve problems creatively, and use industry-standard digital tools.
- Turn your ideas into a visual, interactive, or digital prototype
- Collaborate in a fun and creative environment
- Take part in a real-world live project supported by Bachelor of Media Design students & Design Faculty
- Prizes for standout ideas!
Lunch will be provided. Co-hosted with the Auckland Urban Development Office and mana whenua partners.
