Media Design School & The Shadownet Present: An AR Experience

Experience Augmented Reality at the Tech21 Summit, with HADO, the first Augmented Reality (AR) sport available in New Zealand. Come along to our booth at the Tech21 Summit to find out the real-world applications of this technology and how it can promote movement, fitness and wellbeing!

HADO involves throwing supercharged energy balls at opponents and deploying protective shields. Success in this sport depends upon a mix of agility and strategy...it's like dodgeball, but in full AR!

What is Augmented Reality?

Augmented Reality (AR) is the result of using technology to superimpose data – sound, images and graphics – onto the real world around us. Media Design School was the first school in New Zealand to offer a dedicated stream focusing on AR. Our students and alumni have gone on to build extraordinary games, in-demand educational tools, virtual cultural experiences and more.

Whether you choose to apply AR to one of our undergraduate degrees or go more in-depth with our specialised Graduate Diploma of Creative Technologies (GDCT) stream, you’ll be collaborating with our expert faculty that live and breathe this tech, and who will give you all the tools you need to bring your ideas to life.

Your pathway to creating captivating new worlds and immersive experiences through the magic of AR begins here at Media Design School!
