Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside
Executive Dean, Design and Creative Technology
As the Executive Dean, Design and Creative Technology, Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside provides overall academic leadership to staff and students in the vertical. Scott has over 20 years of academic leadership in design across Europe, Asia and Australia with experience leading a number of programs, schools and faculties.
Originally from the United Kingdom and trained as Industrial Designer, Scott soon moved into design management gaining a Masters degree in design leadership. He acquired his Phd from the Centre for Studies in Higher Education at the University of Melbourne. Scott is a strong advocate of internationalisation, industry engaged teaching, high quality student outcomes and interdisciplinary research. Scott’s own research interests intersect the disciplines of design education, higher education policy, design strategy and innovation.
