A new NZD $6,000 scholarship is now available for high-achieving international students enrolling in the Graduate Diploma of Creative Technologies at Media Design School at Strayer (MDS). Designed for career switchers and enhancers, this one-year programme offers a focused, practical pathway to build advanced skills and a standout creative portfolio.

Designed for graduates who want to deepen their expertise or upskill in a new creative-tech discipline without committing to another full degree, the programme combines intensive, practice-based learning with a strong focus on portfolio development and creative independence.

In Semester 1, you’ll build advanced capability through a curated programme of specialist learning within your chosen stream. In Semester 2, you’ll apply those skills to a substantial self-directed project, developed with close mentorship, regular feedback, and one-to-one support from specialist lecturers.

By the end of the programme, you’ll graduate with a refined body of work that demonstrates clear specialisation, technical confidence, and professional-level execution.

NZD $6,000 International Scholarship

To support talented international students, MDS is introducing the Graduate Diploma of Creative Technologies International Scholarship, offering NZD $6,000 towards tuition fees.

The scholarship is available to eligible international applicants with strong academic performance enrolling in the programme. It’s designed to support students looking to accelerate their skills, strengthen their portfolio, and take the next step in their creative career.

Intakes, Visa Opportunities, and Further Study Support

Upcoming intakes are available in:

  • July 2026 (Application deadline - 19 June 2026)
  • September 2026 (Application deadline - 28 August 2026)
  • February 2027 (Application deadline - 15 January 2027)
  • July 2027 (Application deadline - 18 June 2027)
  • September 2027 (Application deadline - 27 August 2027) 

From late 2026, students who complete a full-time NZQCF Level 7 Graduate Diploma in New Zealand are expected to become eligible for a Post Study Work Visa for up to a year. For full details and the latest updates, please refer to Immigration New Zealand.

Students who have previously completed a three-year degree at MDS may instead be eligible for the International Alumni Scholarship, which provides a 25% reduction in tuition fees for one year of further study across selected graduate and postgraduate programmes.
