Simon has 15 years teaching and research experience in design. His research expertise is focused on digital practice including: digital painting, web design and interactive installation.
He has a particular interest in experience design and metamodernism, specifically generative art and authenticity in digital forms of art.
Prior to working at Media Design School, Simon lectured in Design at Wintec in Hamilton. He also has freelance experience in web development and print publication design.

Research/Industry Projects:
Simon’s most recent project, is a series of work in the collaborative exhibition ‘Ego Morpheus’. It explores generative, programmatic and automatic drawing as a means to critique modern and postmodern ideas of aesthetic, and questions traditional perception of what is “good” in the age of artificial intelligence. Simon’s generative painting has been a finalist in the Painting and Printmaking award.
