Nouhad Waheed

Nouhad Waheed is a Lecturer on the Bachelor of Art & Design (3D Animation & VFX) at Media Design School at Strayer (MDS), specialising in procedural workflows, environment creation, and emerging production technologies.

In 2026, Nouhad became New Zealand’s first Houdini Certified Instructor - and only the twentieth person globally to achieve the certification through SideFX. His teaching focuses on helping students build both creative and technical problem-solving skills using industry-standard workflows and software.

Alongside teaching, Nouhad actively explores emerging technologies shaping the future of digital production, including procedural environment creation, LiDAR scanning, and real-time asset workflows. His approach combines hands-on technical training with a strong focus on industry relevance, preparing students for evolving careers across animation, VFX, games, and digital production pipelines.

Before joining MDS, Nouhad worked professionally across 3D production and technical art workflows, developing a strong interest in procedural systems and future-focused production methods.
