Texturing with Attitude
Inspired by the look and "feel of a trailor for a 1970's Grindhouse style film", recent Diploma of 3D Computer Animation graduate Thomas Martin has produced a modelling and texturing reel with visceral and cinematic attitude.

Auckland City Mission are a charity always in need of donations and support, but unlike other charities who rely solely on the annual street collection, these guys get interesting and always come up with an engaging, fun way for people to get involved. Their 2010 Winter Appeal has just kicked off, and with the use of Social Media - and a little help from their friends - they're set to gain donations from a whole new set of Aucklanders.

Last Thursday night saw the advertising industry celebrate creative use of newspapers, with the Newspaper Ad of the Year Awards. As well as awarding industry on the night, advertising students went head to head for the Student Newspaper Ad of the Year and the Student Topical Ad of the Year.

Gamer Review - Unreal Development Kit (UDK)
Today I am writing a review about Epic's free AAA engine UDK. The folks at Epic have created an artist friendly game engine that allows anyone to create a game. The best part is that this is the same engine that was used to create Gears of War, Unreal Tournament III, Bioshock and countless other titles.
