International Students Document Checklist
|Letter of Intent||A one page personal letter of intent stating why you want to study at Media Design School and what you plan to do in the future.||Word doc or PDF|
|Your Portfolio||If applicable, have your portfolio ready to upload. Check the details of what is required on the course pages associated with your course of study before putting together your portfolio.||PDF format or online portfolio ideal|
|Proof of Identity||Scan a certified photocopy of the front page of your passport or your birth certificate.||*Must be certified copy (explained below)|
|Resume||A detailed resumé your education history, and work history if you have work experience.||Word doc or PDF|
|Transcripts||Scan a certified copy of your academic records including schools, tertiary institutes or training courses attended within the past five years. If you are currently studying at a New Zealand secondary school and have not yet completed your NCEA (CIE or equivalent) qualification, you can still apply now for admission (when your NCEA results are available in January, we will check them and contact you).||*Must be a certified copy (explained below)|
|IELTS or TOEFL Test Results||Provide evidence of English language proficiency if you are an international student who has not completed high school in New Zealand. For all our qualifications (Diplomas, Degrees and Graduate Diplomas), we require a valid IELTS (Academic) certificate of 6.0 overall with no band score less than 5.5 in each component or equivalent of TOEFL scores.||*Must be a certified copy (explained below)|
*How to certify official documents
To be certified, the document must:
- Be certified by an official of the issuing authority or a person authorised by law in your home country to certify documents.
- Have the official's signature on each page, with the name and title of the official shown clearly below their signature.
- Contain certified copies are photocopies that have been stamped and endorsed as a true copy of the original.
Pathway Student Visa pilot education providers
Media Design School is a participant in the pathway student visa pilot. A pathway student visa allows you to undertake up to three consecutive programmes of study on a single student visa. The Pathway Student Visa pilot will operate for 18 months from 7 December 2015. Participating education providers can offer a range of consecutive programmes of study either within their own institution or in conjunction with other selected education providers. A pathway student visa can be granted up to maximum of five years and removes the need to apply for new student visa as you progress on an education pathway.
