Grimoire Studios, the third year Bachelor of Art and Design team behind Reapercussions, recently took home the Outstanding International Student Film Award at the 14th International Student Film and Video Festival (ISFVF) in Beijing, China.
This year, the ISFVF, which is organised by the prestigious Beijing Film Academy, received 964 entries from 57 countries. According to the ISFVF, approximately 78 of those films were shortlisted and submitted for consideration for the final round of the competition.
Reapercussions, which was the only film from New Zealand to have been selected as a finalist, tells the tale of a tiny, unlucky Reaper who loses his scythe blade and who must use all his strength and intelligence to create a new plan to guide the souls he's harvested to their final resting place.
The other two recipients of the Outstanding International Student Film Award were A Well Designed Plan (U.S.A.) and A Daughter's Debt (U.S.A.).
