Dr Carol MacDonald
Dr MacDonald has worked as a professional librarian in academic libraries for almost 20 years. This has given her a sound background in all aspects of librarianship, including how information is created, organised, retrieved and used in an academic environment. Her primary role at MDS is to help all students find information to support their academic work.
Carol’s doctorate in Information Science specialises in Collection Development and she is using her experience and knowledge to build up the library’s electronic and print collection of information resources in collaboration with MDS academic staff. As an academic herself, she is available to help students find information, to help with their academic writing and to teach students the valuable life skill of information literacy so that they can become experts themselves in finding the information they require, both during their studies and in their future careers. Come and say hi to Carol in the library on level 19.
