MDS Diploma of Graphic Design graduate

Swedish national Dani Keller was in New Zealand on a working holiday clocking into a five-day routine in a banking job, until he discovered an opportunity to explore the boundless creativity he had bursting to get out – he enrolled in the Media Design School Diploma of Graphic Design.

“I found MDS via Google, went in to the school and picked up an info brochure which come with a demo disc of previous students work, and I was sold. It was exactly what I was looking for.”

The course prepared him for a Graphic Design career on a technical level, but also provided the ability to match the software taught to bold creative solutions.

"The Diploma (of Graphic Design) prepared me really well on all technical aspects - for example how to set up file files for prints etc, and the large variety of briefs we worked through made you use all the software tools we learned in class to look at different design solutions, depending on the job or audience intended.”

The environment at MDS is both holistic and supportive; these characteristics meant Danni’s time at the school was very meaningful. “I had a wicked time at MDS, the tutors where great, helpful and would take the time, one-on- one if needed, to explain everything to you. We also had some great outside school activities like dinners and barbecues etc.”

Alongside this positivity sits the industry relevance of the MDS Diploma of Graphic Design, and its influence in preparing Graphic Designers for a career out there in the real world.

“The course helped and pushed me to be prepared for the design industry to the best of my abilities. Being in a small company I had to be on the ball from the word go. Meeting deadlines and dealing with clients briefs in an open minded way.”
