Media Design School's Diploma in Digital Creativity (foundation course) is a multidisciplinary qualification that takes your existing talent and passion in digital media, and channels it into building your appreciation and ability in a range of creative design fields. New to MDS, this purpose-built digital media course combines essential design fundamentals with modern visual media projects including web design, graphics, 3D modelling, advertising, and visual effects.
Your hands on experience at Media Design School will build a platform for you to choose your career pathway and launch into higher specialist learning providing you with a great start to your digital media career. You'll complete print, web, 3D and video projects, each using the skills you learned in the previous section to build on your knowledge.
In addition to building your digital creativity, design knowledge and skills you will also study key topics such as communicating a message and understanding briefs, critiquing work, branding, project-management skills, writing skills, and presentation skills. The course will also consider cultural designs and you can choose to complete your elective individual project as one with a cultural perspective.
All students complete a design and production journal, logging in both your tutor?s feedback and your own comments as well as building your own visual diary that will be a valuable reference tool that you will constantly refer to during your individual project and the team production.
Having completed this digital media course you will have the experience and knowledge gained in a range of design fields to decide on your future area of specialisation. This qualification is an ideal and direct pathway into Media Design School's one year diploma production programs in 3D animation, digital media, graphic design, visual effects or creative advertising.

Digital Creativity Prerequisites
The qualification is open to those who can provide a creative portfolio or evidence to support their creative ambitions. Please note the support references must show that the applicant is ready to study at a tertiary level and the personal statement must show that the applicant understands the time commitment of the course. Applicants must also be able to show they have a sufficient level of practical English in written, oral and comprehension form. Evidence of a minimum IELTS English score of 5.0 may be required.
Portfolio Requirements
A digital media portfolio is not required. However if you would like to submit a portfolio it could consist of relevant creative work such as drawing, designs, photography or similar that shows your creative determination. The school can provide a relevant creative project to demonstrate your ability where no existing portfolio is available.
