Course Description

There is no better way to cement you career pathway than working while studying with an industry partner on real R&D or specific productions. The Media Design School Graduate Diploma (32 weeks) and Graduate Certificate (16 weeks - subject to NZQA approval and accreditation) of Creative Technologies offer unique and very valuable collaborative partnerships between Media Design School and companies in the creative technologies and digital content areas.

The two iterations of this course are very flexible and we are able to accommodate a wide range of industry projects, as well as individual projects. For example if you have a specific design technology interest or research proposal we can look to match you with an assigned industry mentor and an academic coach.

The scope of such project(s) is not limited but may include areas such as the development of new tools, investigative work or prototype productions, the development of creative content to meet a specific need, or the development of a new medium for existing content, software or data.  During the project, you will be mentored by an industry partner from the organisation and an Academic mentor from Media Design School.

Age:

Minimum 19 years

Prerequisites:

A tertiary qualification in a related technical or creative field, or prior knowledge gained in a related industry. Reference letters and prior experience should demonstrate your professional capabilities such as proven self-management, problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, potential for leadership and effective client relationships.
