The Crowbar Awards 2010, South East Asia's premiere competition for student work in the fields of advertising, interactive, design and film, have just announced who won what, with Media Design School coming away with a healthy loot of 10 medals, and two finalists. The final tally for Media Design School was two Golds, five Silvers and two Bronzes. Another big year for Media Design School at Crowbar, last years tally was also ten, but this year we scooped more Silvers.
Super Nanny Print Ad
Organised by the Association of Advertising Agents Singapore (4As), the Crowbar Awards are an annual platform of emerging young creatives to showcase their best works. The Crowbars began in 2001, originally titled The Student Creative Awards where students were encouraged to "grab a crowbar and break in ... to the industry", it has been dubbed the Crowbars ever since. The awards have evolved to become a truly international competition with entries from Uni's and Colleges from the UK, China, Singapore, Malaysia through to Australia and New Zealand.
Alzheimers Awareness Print Ad
The AdSchool (at Media Design School) entries were again prominent as winners (as in past years) with six medals, but Media Design School also did very well in the Film category, and in Interactive. Advanced 3D short Slightly Fishy, picked up a Gold as did the brilliant copywriting work on the AdSchool's Super Nanny print campagin.
Auckland Zoo at Night Print Ad
The gold win for Slightly Fishy continues a big year for the animated short, with showings at the Melbourne and London International Animation Festivals, and at the NZ Film Festival. A full list of winners is below. See the full gallery of the Creative Advertising winners here.
