Graduates going places

Media Design School 12 Jul 2012 Comments

Josh Ruha wasn't sure what he wanted to do for a career - today he is a lead motion graphics artist. It all started with Diploma of Digital Creativity. He shares his journey in his own words.

When I left school I had no idea what I wanted to do. I tried a few things like studying business and joining the workforce but I knew they weren’t for me. There was something else. I had always been good at art I just needed to find the right school to keep me motivated. That’s when I found Media Design School.

I was still unsure exactly which path to take -Did I want to be making films or be a designer? I decided to give the Diploma of Digital Creativity a crack and I absolutely loved it. Digital Creativity gave me a taste of all the different courses Media Design School has to offer and enabled me to find where my strengths lie and which direction I would head in the future.

While I was doing Digital Creativity I decided that Visual Effects would be my final destination, but before I went into that I knew I would be best to widen my knowledge of design and find my own style, so I took up the Diploma of Graphic Design.

By completing Graphic Design I was able to go into the Diploma of Visual Effects confidently and push myself. Visual Effects was awesome. My tutors were fantastic they pushed me beyond my expectations. I learnt so much and in the end it showed.

Now I am working as the lead motion graphics artist at Animation WRX. I couldn’t have made it here without the help and support that Media Design School provided. I have a job that I look forward to going to each day and I get to work with some really amazing and inspiring people on a day-to-day basis. I am so thankful and blessed to have had the great tutors who were there to help me get to where I am now and I cannot thank them enough for all that they have done. I would recommend to anybody who like me didn’t now what they wanted to do but are creative to look at Media Design School.
