Faculty Profile: Druhin Mukherjee
Druhin Mukherjee joins Media Design School with a Masters in Computer Games Technology and a BAFTA award. He was most recently working at Lightning Fish Games in Pune Area, India.
Druhin (27) has been programming since the age of 10 and transformed this passion into a career that has taken him around the world. After graduating from SRM University (Kattankulathur, India) with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering he went on to work with BBC, Tag Games, Dynamo Games, ARC Interactive, EA, Rockstar North and LFG – not to mention completing his Masters at University of Abertay, Dundee (Scotland).
Druhin has won a Microsoft Dev award and, most recently, a BAFTA for the iPad game Sculpty along with his teammates at Team Tickle.
He joined the games faculty this year after he saw the quality of the student work and decided he wanted to teach. He is excited to teach the new generation of game developers when the new Bachelor of Software Engineering (Game Programming) degree starts in August. He is also enjoying the adventurous outdoor activities in Auckland – especially the sky jump off the SkyTower (the tallest free standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere).
In fact, Druhin has already made his mark. His recent presentation at the New Zealand Game Developers Conference was standing room only and the most attended presentation of the day.
Druhin brings his experience, expertise and international outlook on the games industry to Media Design School.
