Amnesty International has launched Trial by Timeline via our graduates Anna Stickely and Ben Polkinghorne from Colenso BBDO New Zealand. In other news, three of our graduates at The Special Group in Auckland have done really well at The Caxtons (newspaper awards) in Australia.
Kim Fraser was a winner in the standard banner category for Un-rugby this banner (Channel 4) and also won for Best Cross Platform Newspaper Campaign for Four. The Home Of NOT Rugby.
Meanwhile, Anthony Wilson and Iain MacMillian were winners of Best Topical Ad and also won in the Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications & IT category for Send a paper for NAB NZ.
The other really good news is that Steinlager's White Can was the grand winner at this year's Effies and the art director on that was another ex graduate, Damian Galvin.
Galvin, was also the art director on The Rialto Channel – Independent Film for Independent Minds which won Best Copywriting at The Caxtons, so that's five ex grads with big wins at The Caxtons. The AdSchool students have always done really well in the Newspaper Student Competitions whilst at the school (we've won the main and the topical NAB competition now for three straight years in a row) and clearly these Caxton wins show how that experience prepares them well for the real world.
