Thanks to the Expo and the conference, we were able to showcase not only the destination (our country is really a point of difference and a selling one), but also the quality of our curriculum, our existing close relationships with major industry partners, the amazing work from our students; and all of these made people stop, listen, ask, and even prepared to board a plane to join the team of staff or students down in Aotearoa.

The Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology has created a cybernetic cutie, code-named HRP-4C, with the goal of seeing her do her little turn on the catwalk… yeah… you know the song.
Auckland animator Julian Stokoe has created a series of plush dolls to help build interest and promote a concept for a childrens TV show (and associated media) - Yoozoo. Taking the dolls into a 3D environment to add weight to his pitch document, Julian has teamed up with MDS Advanced 3D graduate Prashant Patel to render his characters in 3D.
Current students, Graduates, and established game professionals were lining up outside booths, especially those of Blizzard, Ubisoft, Insomniac, LucasArts,... For tiny little MDS, we had a fair amount of questions, awe, giggles, and genuine excitement and interest about the school, and the destination for sure.
