    Darryn Melrose

    Darryn Melrose is Chief Executive of Media Design School and oversees the school's operations and strategic direction. 

    Darryn is one of the regions’ most experienced marketing leaders and strategists. His career development has progressed through chartered accountancy, strategic planning, fmcg marketing, financial services marketing, loyalty, direct and digital agency leadership and brand and retail advertising agency leadership, across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

    His career highlights include being the creator and leader of the highly successful GlobalPlus alliance of Air New Zealand, Bank of New Zealand and Telecom. He also conceived and led the world’s first entry by a bank into the retail telecommunications and energy markets for LloydsTSB. In 2009 when appointed as the CEO of M&C Saatchi he became the first digital leader to take over the helm of a major advertising agency in New Zealand.

    He is the founder of the Digital Leadership Group, and is passionate about the need for businesses to adapt to the emerging digital economy.

    Fionna Scott

      Chief Academic Officer

    Fionna Scott is the Chief Academic Officer. She joined Media Design School in 2011, after 20 years at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design. In addition to extensive experience in tertiary education management and teaching, Fionna has a background in psychology and ergonomics. After many years in a fine arts environment, Fionna is now able to indulge her passion for all things Star Wars and is looking forward to making a difference as Media Design School moves to mostly degree level provision.

    Jackie Young

      Executive Director of Marketing & Recruitment

    Jackie is Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment, and oversees the global management of the Media Design School brand. She joined Media Design School in 2011 with more than 15 years in experience in marketing and communications, including leadership roles within international environments. Jackie has a tracked the evolution of the technology industry from her early career as a journalist and editor at Computerworld Hong Kong, and at strategic communications multinational HIll & Knowlton. She brings commercial acumen to the education sector and passion for digital technologies that connect people and drive innovation.
