Admission Requirements
Portfolio Requirements
If you are applying for Graphic Design, Digital Media, 3D Computer Animation, Visual Effects & Motion Graphics or the Game Art stream of Game Development you will need to put forward a portfolio of relevant visual work either in digital, website or hardcopy format. If you are applying for the Game Programming stream of Game Development, you will need to supply evidence of a technical solution. If you are applying for Creative Adverstising a pre-interview task-sheet will be provided upon application after 1 September 2008, this task-sheet involves a series of exercises relating to creative briefs.
Your visual portfolio should include a range of items including illustrations, art, photography, freehand sketching, sculpture, digital images (e.g. Photoshop, Maya, 3D Studio Max), video etc. The items displayed in your portfolio may have been produced on previous courses or in previous employment, although often the items will be purposely developed for the portfolio in question, in your own personal time.
If you are applying for Graphic Design, Digital Media or Visual Effects & Motion Graphics and you don’t have a current portfolio, you may choose to complete a Media Design School brief (contact us on enquiries@mediadesign.school.nz).
Uncertified documents will not be accepted. Please do not send original documents or artwork to the school. Media Design School accepts no responsibility for original documents and portfolio material submitted as part of an application.
Please Note: Media Design School does not accept international students who are under the age of 18 years.
